What affects a cleaning quote in Cape Town? (And why there's no price list)

A cleaning quote in Cape Town is decided by seven things: the size of the property, its condition, how often you want it cleaned, how easy it is to access, which extras you need, when you need it done, and where it is. Two homes with the same number of bedrooms can need very different amounts of work — which is why CPT Clean quotes every job instead of publishing a price list.

Here is what each factor means in practice, and what you can send us to get an accurate fixed quote quickly.

1. Size — but not just bedrooms

Bedrooms are a starting point, not the answer. What really drives time is surface area and the number of wet rooms. A three-bedroom apartment with one bathroom is a different job from a three-bedroom house in Durbanville with three bathrooms, a scullery, a guest loo and an entertainment area.

Tell us:

  • Bedrooms and bathrooms (including guest loos)
  • Rough floor size if you know it, especially for offices
  • Extra spaces: scullery, study, patio, garage, outbuildings

2. Condition

A home that is cleaned weekly takes far less time than one that has not been cleaned properly in months. Build-up in grout, ovens, extractor filters and shower screens is the biggest single variable we see.

That is also why a deep clean usually comes first and regular cleaning afterwards — the first visit resets the home, and every visit after that maintains it. See deep clean vs regular clean.

3. Frequency

Recurring cleans are planned around the same scope each visit, so they are more predictable to quote than once-offs. Weekly and fortnightly schedules keep the home at a standard where each visit is efficient.

4. Access

Gate codes, estate security procedures, building parking, stairs without lifts, and keys collected from an agent all affect timing. None of these is a problem — we just need to know so the team arrives prepared.

5. Extras

Some tasks are not part of a standard clean and change the quote:

  • Inside the oven, fridge or cupboards
  • Interior windows, or exterior glass
  • Carpets, rugs and upholstery
  • Balconies, patios and pool areas
  • Laundry and ironing

6. Timing

Short notice, weekends and the busiest weeks of the year — end of month, and November to January in Cape Town and Stellenbosch — are when calendars fill up. Booking early gives you more choice of dates.

7. Location

We cover Cape Town from the City Bowl and Atlantic Seaboard to the Northern Suburbs, Blouberg, Stellenbosch and the Helderberg. Travel between areas is planned into the schedule, so tell us the suburb or postal code — or check your area.

Why we don't publish prices

A "from R…" price tells you almost nothing about your job, and it creates surprises on the day. A fixed quote based on what you actually need is fairer for you and for the team doing the work.

How to get an accurate quote fast

  • Use the quote form — it asks for exactly the details above
  • Or WhatsApp a few photos or a short video walk-through to +27 83 265 5884
  • For offices and larger homes, we may suggest a quick site visit

You get a fixed price and a written scope before anyone arrives.

FAQ

Quick answers

Why doesn't CPT Clean publish prices?

Because size, condition, access and extras vary so much between properties that a price list would be misleading. Every job gets a free, fixed quote instead.

What do you need to give me a quote?

The service, property type, size, suburb and how often you want it cleaned. Photos or a short video help on larger jobs.
