The cost of a move-out clean in Cape Town depends on how big the property is, how much build-up there is, which appliances need cleaning inside, whether windows are included, and how close you are to the inspection date. What a move-out clean covers
A proper end-of-lease clean is an empty-home deep clean, not a tidy-up:
- Every cupboard and drawer, inside and out
- Oven, hob, extractor and fridge inside
- Bathrooms descaled: glass, taps, grout and tiles
- Skirtings, switches, door frames and spot-cleaned walls
- Floors vacuumed and mopped

The five things that change the quote
1. Size and layout. Bedrooms and bathrooms are the starting point. Extra rooms, a scullery, garages and balconies add time.
2. Condition. A flat that was cleaned regularly during the lease is quick. A student house after a full year of use, with a heavily used oven and limescale in the showers, takes far longer. Honest photos help us quote accurately.
3. Empty or not. Cleaners work fastest in an empty home. Furniture still in place, or boxes in the rooms, slows the job and can mean a second visit.
4. Windows and extras. Interior windows, sills and tracks are usually part of a move-out clean. Exterior glass, carpets and blinds are quoted as extras.
