How office cleaning contracts are quoted in Cape Town
Office cleaning contracts in Cape Town are quoted as a fixed monthly fee based on five things: the floor area to be cleaned, how often, how many restrooms and kitchens there are, what time of day the cleaning happens, and whether consumables are supplied. A site walk-through turns those into a written scope — and the scope is what the price is based on.
1. Floor area and layout
Open-plan floors are quicker per square metre than offices broken into many small rooms. Multiple levels, stairs, glass partitions and lots of furniture all add time.
2. Frequency
Daily, three times a week, weekly — the more frequent the clean, the less build-up each visit has to deal with. Many offices combine light daily cleaning with a periodic deep clean.
3. Restrooms and kitchens
These are the most time-intensive areas and the ones staff notice first. The number of toilets, basins, showers, kitchens and breakrooms is a big part of the quote.
4. Hours
Most offices in the CBD, Tyger Valley and Stellenbosch want cleaning after hours or before opening, so the team never works around staff. Building access and alarm procedures are agreed in advance.
5. Consumables and extras
- Toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels and bin liners — supplied by you or by us
- Glass partitions and shopfront windows
- Carpet extraction cleaning
- Fridge and appliance cleaning
What you should get in writing
- A scope listing every area and task, and how often
- The cleaning hours and access arrangements
- One point of contact
- How missed items are reported and fixed
Start with a trial
Many businesses start with a once-off deep clean to set the standard, then move to a regular contract. Over December, an empty office is the perfect time for that reset — see our year-end office deep clean guide.
