Airbnb turnover checklist for Cape Town hosts before peak season
December and January are when Cape Town short-lets earn their year. They are also when one rushed turnover can cost you a five-star average. Here is the checklist we work to between guests.
Before you start
- Check the booking calendar for same-day check-out/check-in
- Confirm linen is clean and on site
- Stock consumables: toilet paper, soap, coffee, dishwasher tablets, bin bags
Kitchen
- All dishes washed and put away in the same place every time
- Fridge emptied of guest leftovers, shelves wiped
- Hob, oven door, microwave and kettle cleaned
- Counters and sink polished; bins emptied and relined
Bathrooms
- Shower glass squeegeed and wiped dry — water marks show up in guest photos
- Toilet, basin and taps cleaned; hair removed from drains
- Fresh towels folded the same way every time
- Toiletries topped up
Bedrooms
- Beds stripped and remade with fresh linen
- Under the bed and behind bedside tables checked for left items
- Wardrobe hangers counted
Living areas and outside
- Floors vacuumed and mopped
- Cushions straightened, throws folded
- Balcony swept and outdoor furniture wiped — on the Atlantic Seaboard and in Blouberg, salt and sand settle daily
- Windows and sliding doors spot-cleaned
Report
Photograph any damage or missing items and send them to the host the same day. Platforms have time limits on claims, so delays cost money.
Why consistency matters
Guests compare your listing photos to what they walk into. The point of a checklist is that every turnover looks like the listing — not just the ones you do yourself.
CPT Clean does Airbnb and short-let turnovers across the Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl, Blouberg and Stellenbosch. Get a quote.
